Cllr. Denise Tiran is a member for for Meopham South and Vigo at Gravesham Borough Council.
I am a freelance international midwifery lecturer with my own company, Expectancy, having previously worked at the University of Greenwich. A Fellow of the Royal College of Midwives, winner of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Award for services to healthcare education in 2012 and I was highly commended in the Prince of Wales’ Awards for Healthcare in London 2001. I am a prolific author of midwifery textbooks and a frequent conference speaker in the UK and overseas. With fifteen years’ experience in managing my own business, I was runner-up in the 2015 Kent Women in Business Awards and now mentor midwives wanting to start their own businesses. I moved to Culverstone eleven years ago with my partner, Harry, and I am keen to preserve the rural idyll of Kent’s villages. I have one son, Adam, who lives in South Africa.
